"I rescue sick, injured and homeless cats and recently found an 8week old kitten that was diagnosed with a fatal virus. A good friend of mine gave me a little of the Balance7 to give orally to the kitten. I was going to have her put to sleep but thought I would at least try the Balance7 before doing so. I was only going to give it 3 days and if I saw no improvement in this kitten's suffering I was going to have her put down.
To give you a little insight on how sick this kitten was, she was totally blind. Her eyes were full of pus and they had turned a milky white due to this virus. She struggled to breath from so much mucus congestion in her nose throat and lungs that she had to be fed with a tube. Her stools were like water, bright greenish gold in color mixed with blood and her tummy was bloated from a mass infestation of intestinal worms but she was so weak that giving her a wormer would have killed her. And she had the worst case of earmites I had ever seen. My colleagues were looking at me like I was crazy and some were upset with me thinking it was cruel that I was going to prolong the kitten's suffering to try and save it with something that they had never heard of, Balance7.
These are the notes I documented of her daily progress. I have all the pictures that I documented daily of her recovery in an album on my Facebook and here are the links:
I'm taking pictures of the kitten which are so upsetting to look at that people are in tears upon viewing them. But, if the Balance7 is as good as they say it is, I want before and after pictures because it is going to take a miracle to save this baby's life! First, I'm going to soak a cloth in the B7 and hold it over her eyes for about 10 minutes. And soak her paws with it too.
I tubed 4ml of the B7 directly into her stomach and will continue this every couple of hours for the next 24 hours.
The kitten is still alive. She still looks and sounds terrible, But instead of laying flat on her side unable to get up, she is in a crouched position, and she starts to purr when she hears me coming. I'm repeating her treatment every 2 hours with the B7 just as I did yesterday.
It's the end of the day, she no longer needs to be tube fed and is taking a syringe with a mixture of B7 and kitten replacer milk, much like a bottle.
She can sit up in a sitting position now and is taking a few steps on her own. Her eyes are still white but no longer seeping pus and she is able to open one of them just a crack. I can hear the congestion in her lungs starting to break up and she's blowing 'snot' bubbles out her nose now when exhaling. This is all good! Still repeating the soaking and feeding of B7 every 2 hours. I'm exhausted.
And, she purrs. I am starting to see the miracle this kitten needed. I'm in awe now. She is eating on her own. The wet raspy rattle in her lungs and severe labored breathing has turned into a soft snore and she is chewing on my fingers and toes. Her eyes are still closed and white and I'm accepting that she will be blind at this point. But, she is alive and improving by the hour. It's okay that she is blind because she is in her forever home with me here. No way can I ever trust anyone else after all of this, lol!
To my disbelief, the milky white cloud in her right eye is starting to fade and I can see a slight shape of a pupil starting to appear. When I move my hand in front of her face she'll move her head in the direction my hand was moving but cant follow it further than that. She is supposed to be completely blind. I'm speechless, really!
Yes, I was right. Her right eye is open and today there is color and a full pupil. She is following me around from room to room is batting a play mouse with her paw. The left eye is still white and closed so I will increase the soakings with the B7 to every hour. I will also attempt to clean her ears out with the B7 now for the earmites. I feel she is healthy enough for this now and it has to be done as they are getting worse.
Oh holy moly, I have never seen anything like this. Just put the B7 in her ears and there was an immediate explosion of mites trying to get away from it. The kitten is going crazy trying to rub and scratch her ears and I can feel them crawling all over me. Now I've got her settled down and clean out thick black goo from inside her ears. The mites are still crawling on me and biting. I will have to do this again tomorrow if the kitten can take it.
Let there be sight. The left has a hint of color under the milky cloud and I can see a faint outline of a pupil just as I saw in the right eye before her sight was restored in it. This is unreal! Kittens this young do not recover from this virus and the ones that do are blind. Rachel is neither dead or blind, she is playing with a ball and chasing it all over the floor! I am crying.
My blog ends here because Rachel has made a full recovery and is no longer a cat flu carrier which she is supposed to be for 18 months after infection. Right now she is playing in the litter box and flinging litter out everywhere *sighs*, climbing the curtains, pestering the other cats (which she could not be around if she was still a carrier), eating and pooping along side them without risk of spreading the virus, climbing up my back to kill my ponytail, and sleeping behind me in my chair when she's too tired to move another inch.
Not only has Balance7 saved Rachel's life, I have 15 other stories just like this one. Balance7 has made the difference between life and death for so many here at the rescue and I will not be without it now and I can honestly say I have never been this confident or excited about any other product in my life. I can only hope that others will read this and save lives with the Balance7 as I have".
